For instance: decisions of the Supreme Court may not be appealed to any other body; as Justice Robert H. You never know who you'll find, in the Biography Resource Center

Now, More Than Ever,
Since January 2005, Thomson Gale has added more than 1,400 new or revised biographies to the Biography Resource Center. Noteworthy, newsworthy, notorious... (go ahead, look up Scott Peterson). Just added: newly elected Pope Benedict XVI

Users can now access more than 850 new entries that have not appeared in any Thomson Gale print source. Among these never-before-published entries are profiles on: Ghazi al-Yawer, Iraq's official interim president; Paul Klebnikov, American journalist; Lloyd Robertson, Canadian TV news anchor; and Simon Baker, Australian actor.

In addition, users now have access to all of the entries contained in five recently published Thomson Gale print volumes, including: Ella Bully-Cummings, Detroit Police Chief; and L. Douglas Wilder, Virginia's first black governor, fashion designer John Galliano, professional tennis player Maria Sharapova and actor Zach Braff.

Biography Resource Center now provides access to nearly 415,000 full-text biographies on nearly 320,000 different people.

Welcome to 1-Minute NoveList!

Staff really should check out 1-Minute NoveList. It's just a few webpages to view, but it will really help you GET how to use the newest version 2.0 of the NoveList database. You can excel at helping users find fiction titles! This short module is NOT a tutorial. It is a step-by-step presentation of one kind of search to provide a quick start to NoveList. Consider This Scenario... I love some of the earlier books by John Grisham like The Brethren or The Client. I've read all of his works and want to find some more books like my favorites.

1-Minute NoveList will show you how to:
* Select the type of search you need (For this example, Find a favorite author).
* Enter the author's name to bring up all the titles by that author (e.g., Grisham).
* Select one of the titles that was a favorite to view its title record.
* Click on Find Similar Books in order to select subject headings about the book (aspects about the book you liked). NoveList will retrieve titles with the subject headings you have selected to help you find your next book.

and while you're at it, check out the new features in NoveList, like tabs, and series sorts.
